Singer Anne Wilson Healed Through Music And Faith In The Lord

In 2017, when Anne did a cover of Hillshop Worship’s beautiful track ‘What’s A Beautiful Name‘ on YouTube, it touched many viewers. After all, all the words she was singing were in remembrance of someone very special in her life but no longer around.

Back then, Anne was a musician struggling both in her career and on the inside. Having lost her brother that year, she was trying her best to find solace through the music that resonated with her and hold firm on her faith in the lord.

Today, with the popularity of her single ‘My Jesus’, it has become apparent that her faith is growing stronger than ever. The video ( that was trending on YouTube) exactly portrayed the time she lost her brother Jacob and the healing through the Lord.

Death Of Brother Jacob

Anne’s late brother Jacob Wilson was an integral part of her life. He encouraged her to venture into music-making and the two shared precious moments together. Growing up. they would listen to country songs driving in their hometown.

He inspired Anne in every way possible and maybe that’s why each year, she reminisces him touching words,

I don’t think words could ever describe how much I miss you Jacob. I am so incredibly blessed to have had you as my brother for 15 years. I strive to be like you every day. Your heart for The Lord & others was incredible. You were the kindest and funniest person I knew. You always encouraged me to do my best and you were always there for me. You protected me so much and cared so much for me. Your love truly displayed Jesus’ love for us. Oh how I miss you Jacob.

When the video for the song ‘My Jesus’ premiered in 2021, it was more than just a recreation of the darkest day in her life. The video was an emotional reenactment of the death of brother Jacob and the sadness, pain that followed.

Probably, the video is most personal as of like an enactment. But the music video as much as dark it was, is full of hope towards the end. Viewers see Anne holding on to the picture of her brother tucked inside the holy bible making the point obvious: God is always looking after us.

But above all, just like portrayed in the song, it’s about the story of hope and finding light amid the darkness.

Anne’s Parents Response To ‘My Jesus’

Upon the release of ‘My Jesus’ Anne’s grandmother, Judy Wilson was quick to comment on the video. She shared,

I’m so proud of Anne who is my granddaughter.  God is using her to glorify His name.  I’ll never get over losing Jacob!  No words to describe how much I love and miss him.  I know he is so proud of Anne and her ministry!!

She indeed is proud since Anne’s word of God and devotion has reached out to people across the globe now. With more than 2 million views in the video, she sure will be preaching the lord’s name and her brother Jacob must be proud of her.

Some find hope in therapy, some in art while some are still lost. Whatever our religion or ideological preference is, we’re just happy that Anne is moving on in life, stronger than ever.

Let’s hope that, the 23-year-old singer will keep succeeding always! Also, fans can also support Anne’s music by purchasing her albums and official merch through her official site.

A look At The Wonderful Lyrics Of My Jesus By Anne Wilson

[Verse 1]

Are you past the point of weary?

Is your burden weighing heavy?

Is it all too much to carry?

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

Do you feel that empty feeling?

‘Cause shame’s done all its stealing

And you’re desperate for some healing

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

[Chorus]

He makes a way where there ain’t no way

Rises up from an empty grave

Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

His love is strong and His grace is free

And the good news is I know that He

Can do for you what He’s done for me

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And let my Jesus change your life

[Post-Chorus]

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Hallelujah, amen, amen

[Verse 2]

Who can wipe away the tears

From broken dreams and wasted years

And tell the past to disappear? Oh

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And all the wrong turns that you would

Go and undo if you could

Who can work it all for your good

Let me tell you about my Jesus

[Chorus]

He makes a way where there ain’t no way

Rises up from an empty grave

Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

His love is strong and His grace is free

And the good news is I know that He

Can do for you what He’s done for me

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And let my Jesus change your life

[Post-Chorus]

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Hallelujah, amen, amen

Amen

[Bridge]

Who would take my cross to Calvary?

Pay the price for all my guilty?

Who would care that much about me?

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus, oh

[Chorus]

He makes a way where there ain’t no way

Rises up from an empty grave

Ain’t no sinner that He can’t save

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

His love is strong and His grace is free

And the good news is I know that He

Can do for you what He’s done for me

Let me tell you ’bout my Jesus

And let my Jesus change your life

[Post-Chorus]

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Hallelujah, amen, amen

Hallelujah, hallelujah

Hallelujah (Amen, amen)

Let my Jesus change your life
